The Citygie Group

Committed to urban development

Our group takes its name from the Ancient Greek "Hygie" and the English word "city."

In Ancient Greek, "Hygie" is both the word for "health" and the name of the goddess of cleanliness, health, and hygiene. The daughter of Asclepius—the god of medicine—the goddess Hygie represents health preservation and symbolizes preventive medicine, alongside her sister Panacea, who symbolizes curative medicine. Hygie is said to have been the first to focus on health through nutrition and the cleanliness of both spaces and bodies. She quickly became a symbol of public baths, which remain a feature of our cities today.

Driven by a commitment to health and to urban development—aiming to create spaces that are welcoming, safe, accessible, inclusive, and sustainable—our group built its name around this Greek term and the English word "city."
